What is InvoiceKaro?+
InvoiceKaro is a GST-ready invoicing and payments app for Indian freelancers, agencies and small businesses. You create professional GST tax invoices, share a secure pay link, and get money directly into your own UPI or bank account. It also includes Collect, a get-paid-with-proof layer for milestone project work. It runs in any browser and on your phone at invoicekaro.com/app — no installation needed.
Is it free? Is there a trial?+
Every new account starts free — no card needed — with paid features unlocked to try; after that you pick a plan. Choose a plan — Free, Starter, Professional or Enterprise — billed monthly or annually (annual saves about 15–17%). See Plans & billing or the live pricing page for current prices.
How does InvoiceKaro handle GST?+
You set a GST % per item. InvoiceKaro then derives CGST + SGST vs IGST automatically by comparing the invoice's State of Supply to your business state — same state means CGST+SGST, different state means IGST. Per-item discounts and the auto invoice number are handled for you. See Creating invoices.
How do my customers pay, and does the money come to me directly?+
Yes — money goes directly to your own UPI or bank account. Every invoice has a public pay page showing a dynamic UPI QR pre-filled with the exact amount, a 'Pay via UPI app' button (GPay/PhonePe/Paytm/BHIM), a copyable UPI ID, and your bank details for NEFT/IMPS/RTGS. There are zero gateway fees and InvoiceKaro never holds your funds. See How customers pay.
Can I edit an invoice after I've sent it?+
No. Drafts are fully editable, but once an invoice is sent it's locked to keep it tamper-proof. To change a sent invoice, cancel it and create a new one. See Managing invoices.
I didn't get my OTP — what now?+
OTP codes are 6 digits and expire in about 5 minutes. Wait for the resend countdown to finish, then tap Resend. Check spam/blocked messages, confirm the phone number or email is correct, and try the other channel (phone OTP via WhatsApp/SMS, or email OTP). More fixes in Troubleshooting.
What is Collect?+
Collect is a get-paid-with-proof workflow for project work. You organise work into Projects (list or Kanban) with milestones, attach proof (files, links, notes), get a client to sign off via a public approval link that produces an immutable acceptance certificate, and generate an Evidence Pack PDF. A Payment Health dashboard tracks receivables, overdue amounts and MSME breaches.
What's the MSME 45-day rule?+
Under the MSMED Act (sections 15–16), a buyer must pay a registered MSME supplier within 45 days. Beyond that, the buyer can owe up to 3x the RBI interest rate, and you can escalate via MSME Samadhaan. Collect's Payment Health dashboard surfaces your MSME 45-day breach amount so you can act.
Is my data safe?+
Your data is hosted in India, encrypted in transit and at rest, and handled in line with India's DPDP Act and IT Act. If you stop your subscription your data stays safe, and you can export everything to PDF/Excel/CSV any time. For data requests, email privacy@invoicekaro.com.
Can I use it on my mobile?+
Yes. InvoiceKaro is a web app that works fully in your phone's browser — most users run it from their phone. Just open invoicekaro.com/app; there's nothing to install.
What languages are supported?+
InvoiceKaro's entire interface is available in English and Hindi — switch anytime with the language toggle in the header. Collect's AI can also draft client reminder messages in English or Hindi, in a Polite, Firm or Final-notice tone.
What happens when my trial or plan expires?+
Your data stays completely safe. To keep creating and sending invoices you'll need to upgrade. Until then you can still sign in and view your account. See Plans & billing.
Can I use InvoiceKaro in Hindi?+
Yes — the whole interface toggles between English and Hindi. Tap the language button (हिं / EN) in the top bar to switch; your choice is remembered.
Is there a dark mode?+
Yes. Go to Profile → Appearance and choose Light, Dark or System (System follows your device setting).
Can I sign in with email instead of my phone?+
Yes. On the sign-in screen choose Email instead of WhatsApp, and we'll send the 6-digit OTP to your email address.
