Where your data lives, how it's protected, how InvoiceKaro aligns with the DPDP and IT Acts, and how to export or request your data.
Your invoices, customers and payment records are sensitive business data. InvoiceKaro hosts them in India, encrypts them, and keeps you in control — you can export everything anytime, and you decide what happens to your data.
Where your data lives
Your data is hosted in India. It is encrypted in transit (so it's protected as it moves between your device and our servers) and encrypted at rest (so it's protected on disk). Sign-in itself is passwordless — a 6-digit OTP over WhatsApp or email — so there's no password to leak. See Create your account.
Compliance alignment
InvoiceKaro is built to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and the Information Technology (IT) Act. In practice that means data minimisation, security safeguards, and honouring your rights over the personal data you and your customers entrust to the app.
Your data rights
As the owner of your account's data, you can exercise the following rights:

Export your data anytime
You never have to ask permission to take your data with you — export it whenever you like to PDF or Excel:
- Invoices export as PDF for individual bills, and your payments to an Excel workbook via the Payments tab's Export Payment Report.
- From the Payments tab, use Export Payment Report to download an Excel file of your collections.
- Collect can generate Evidence Pack PDFs per milestone or per project for disputes and your own records.
